I am seeking a graduate degree program in Civil Engineering that is reliably practice oriented as well as theoretically based. I am particularly interested in civil engineering issues that relate to environmental challenges inherent to densely populated and economically disparate urban settings. I hope to pursue studies that examine innovative planning, design, and construction of high-density developments across both rural and industrialized regions of the U.S. In particular, problems associated with population expansion and its related threat to environmental sustainability greatly interest me. It is to this end that I hope to pursue specific studies that explore innovative transportation systems that link expanding industrialized markets across both urbanized and agricultural landscapes...
