Writing an Admission Statement: MBA

Sample MBA Paragraph

Please accept my application for admission into the MBA Human Resources Management Program at the University of Phoenix. I have enjoyed extensive work in both management and training programs in the field of human resources to date. How to Target the MBA Admission Committee:

The most popular and competitive graduate programs today are undoubtedly in the fields of business management, finance and administration. Many thousands of hopeful applicants seek entry into MBA programs each year, but placements are few and far between in the more prestigious schools, and entry requirements are proving increasingly demanding. How may you ensure that you will stand out from the crowd - among thousands of other applicants who are vying as vigorously as you are yourself to secure a place in a prestigious program? Certainly good, or at least adequate, GPA scores will assist you, but it is only the personal statement that you submit that will allow you to really stand out, in any measurable way, from the thousands of other applicants who are competing with you.

An effective admission statement for entry into an MBA program must be persuasive and well written. It must make reference to your future career goals, and wherever possible, those career goals should be linked specifically to the course of studies you hope to pursue in the graduate school of your choice. A good MBA admission essay also commonly includes some discussion of the applicant's personal interests and attributes, with perhaps reference to the applicant's demonstrated strength of character and commitment to task.

Where your academic standings are not superior, and where you are doubtless competing with applicants sporting impressive academic achievements, only your admission statement can make the difference in your overall submission.

Only a winning and compelling admission essay can assure that your total submission package will stand out above the crowd.
