Develop a Concept

Although it is true that your admissions essay is uniquely your own, it is still true that certain common themes resound in almost all effective admissions essays. One such theme usually focuses around an expression of personal goal setting.

Develop at least one main paragraph in your essay that discusses your personal life goals or your career aspirations. Link these goals to the course work offered at the institute of your choice wherever possible. Speak in strong, passionate terms and maintain a positive, energetic, self-confident note in your writing. Devote at least one fully developed paragraph to a discussion of your personal traits and attributes. Mention your strengths, your talents, your tenacity, and your ability to overcome adversity. However, when writing about your skills and attributes, be sure to be specific. Back your statements up as much as possible with specific examples of your behaviours or achievements that support your claims.

I hope in the near future to move from my present employment in the information technology industry to a position with a consulting organization operating in the private sector. I am interested in pursuing course work that examines the principles of software design engineering, and, more specifically, in advanced study that embraces recent...
