Write a Unique Statement

If you are applying to a number of different schools or programs, try to avoid using a “one-size-fits-all” essay statement for each school. Non-specific admissions statements are usually not only somewhat bland in tone, but their responses to specific questions often appear imprecise.

View each graduate program and its associated admissions requirements as unique. Tailor each essay that you write to one specific school of choice, and craft each of your answers to one specific question posed.

Although my current work requires strong leadership and decision-making skills, I feel that the course work offered at the Kellogg School of Management will provide me with the advanced leadership and managerial skills necessary to the development of fledgling business enterprises. I am confident that the complexity and diversity of course work offered in the Kellogg School program will provide me with a comprehensive understanding of organizational models and marketing strategies... [Note that the university is mentioned by name.]
